最上級カセットコンロ「Iwatani アモルフォ プレミアム」への感謝を込めて①Iwataniの誇り/With thanks to the top-end cassette stove “Iwatani Amorpho Premium”(1) Proud of Iwatani
日本一鍋プロジェクトの鍋で、Iwataniが誇る最上級カセットコンロ「アモルフォ プレミアム」を愛用させていただいています。
これから3回にわけて、「アモルフォ プレミアム」の企画、開発に携わった人への感謝の気持ちを込めた投稿をさせていただきます。
カセットコンロ自体が鍋の場を盛り上げる存在です。素晴らしいです。
Iwataniでカセットコンロを作っていらっしゃる方と一緒に鍋を囲み、コンロへの思いを語り合える時が来るのを夢見ています。
Iwataniの誇り
まず箱のパッケージデザインを見て、「きてるなあ！」と思いました。
普通にカセットコンロの箱には、シンプルな段ボール地になっているか、おいしそうな鍋料理の写真が描いてあるのが普通です。
ところが、アモルファ・プレミアムの場合は、「コンロだけ」の写真。
つまり、この「カセットコンロ」そのもので勝負しているのです。
「鍋したいからカセットコンロを買おう」ではなくて、「このカセットコンロが欲しいからこのコンロを買おう」と思う人に訴えかけるデザインなのです。
カセットコンロに誇りを持って作っている企画・開発陣の気合が滲み出ています。
通常の5～10倍の値段がするカセットコンロ。開発コストから割に合いません。もともと「アモルファ」という機種があったのですが、19年ぶりに「プレミアム」に進化しました。
岩谷産業の方にお聞きしました。
「後継機種の開発予定はあるのですか？」
すると、「全く考えられない」というお答え。
モノの作り手として「最高のものを作る」という意図もあったそうですが、2010年に岩谷産業さんが80周年を迎えるのを記念してという意味合いもあったそうです。
おそらく当面は「世界最高峰のカセットコンロ」の地位は不動でしょう。
モノの作り手へのヒントがあふれる
エンジニアでもある鍋奉行は、こういう形のモノ作りが大好きです。
「採算は取れないもの」なので経営視点ではどうなのかというものでしょうが、モノの作り手としてはやりがいがあっただろうなあと感じます。
たかがカセットコンロ、されどカセットコンロ。
用途はシンプルです。
そこに、現状考えられる技術を使い、お客様のニーズをとことん考え、それでいて洗練されたデザインに落とし込んで、本来のシンプルな用途から外れないようにする、そんな意図が滲み出ています。
モノの作り手、すなわち何かを作り、そのモノを通じてその使い手を幸せにする者は、アモルファ プレミアムを見て、使って、感じることで必ず自分の現場へのヒントがあると思います。

The cassette stove itself is the entrance exciting the nabe place. That’s excellent.
I am dreaming of the time to surround the nabe with a cassette stove making ceremony stove at Iwatani and to talk about my thoughts on the stove.
Iwatani’s pride
First I saw the package design of the box and thought that it was “come on!”
Normally it is normal that the box of a cassette stove has a simple cardboard ground or a picture of a delicious nabe dish is drawn.
However, in the case of “Amorpha Premium”, it is a picture of “Only stove”.
In other words, this “cassette stove” itself is a game.
It is not a “I want to cook a cassette stove because I want to cook” but rather a design that appeals to those who think “I want this cassette stove so I will buy this stovetop.”
The spirit of the planning and development team who is proud of the cassette stove is bleeding out.
Cassette stove that costs 5 to 10 times as normal. It does not compromise from development cost. Originally there was a model called “amorpha”, but it has evolved into “premium” for the first time in 19 years.
I asked those of Iwatani Sangyo Inc.
“Do you plan to develop successor models?”
Then answering “I can not think at all”.
It seems that there was also an intention of “making the best things” as a creator of things, but it seems that there was also a meaning to mark the 80th anniversary of Iwatani in 2010.
Perhaps for the moment the status of “the best cassette stove in the world” will be immovable.
Hints on things made by goods
Nabe Bugyo, also an engineer, loves making things like this.
Since it is “things that can not be profitable”, it seems to be how it is from the management perspective, but I feel that it would have been worth it as a creator of things.
Cassette stove, might not be that important, but it’s still worth something.
Usage is simple.
There, such intention is exuded, using the technology which can be considered at present, thinking thoroughly about the needs of customers, and even incorporating it into a sophisticated design so as not to be removed from the original simple use.
Those who make things, that is, those who make something and make their users happy through that thing, are sure to have a hint to their site by seeing, using and using the amorphous premium.
