


When did the nabe start?
The concept of “Nabe” is thought to be from the Jomon period when earthenware appeared. Boiling the hard ingredients in a nabe improves digestion and absorption, and a wonderful human wisdom is also born to obtain nutrients dissolved in juice.
The word “nabe” was born by the spread of ironware. Culture of eating nabe dishes together by several people can also be said to be a culture to eat while boiling at the hearth end. It can be thought that “field” itself means one household.
In the latter half of the Edo period, various nabe dishes were established, nabe cooking became popular in the beef pot in the Meiji era, and the tendency to point to nabe dishes is becoming stronger when saying “nabe”.
The place the world nabe society calls “nabe” is conceptually close to the hearth end of the hearth.
